FAQs
What do I need to bring to class?
Your sweet self. Everything else is already here for you! Wear something very casual.
Will I be able to learn to throw on the wheel?
At this class we focus on hand building, which has a much lower learning curve than throwing.
Is this class for children?
The classes at the gallery are for adults, but children are welcome when accompanied by their adults. Just register them the same way you register yourself.
What does my fee pay for?
Your clay, instruction, tools, glazes, and firings are all included in the class fee: there are no extra fees or hidden costs. You pay by the class—there is no membership required.
How often are the classes?
Classes meet weekly on Tuesdays from 4-7 and Wednesdays from 9-12. It’s highly recommended that you plan to come to at least two classes. The first class you will create your pieces, then they will be fired to bisque temperature to harden them for ease of glazing. Return the following week—or any subsequent week—to glaze your piece. It will then be fired the final time and you will be able to pick it up within a couple of weeks.
What will we be making in class?
Our classes are set up so that you have the option to follow a tutorial step by step, or you can come in with your own idea, and be guided and helped to create that item yourself. It’s all up to you!
