Trinity Flow Lamp

Every so often I get the urge to make something more…artsy. It’s a growing and blooming of something inside. That’s what happened with this lamp: I knew I needed to make a lamp (I had extra lamp shades, after all!), and I had a feeling of a shape in my heart.

As I was making this flowing shape, it seemed like it was asking for something—a point of focus. Before I knew what was happening, I found myself making tiny little spheres, and nesting them in the deepest crevasse in the shape.

I already knew what glazes I wanted to use: Black Aventurine by Amaco is one of the most spectacular glazes I know, with it’s copper sparkles. When brushed over Honeyflux by Amaco, there’s nothing like it. I also added some thin lines of Cobalt Celadon (again, from Amaco) because I wanted to be sure to pick out the blues just a little.

I love the way the lamp light picks out the tiny gold spheres
