Morning’s Brewing

Morning’s Brewing, 16X20, unframed $270

A couple of years ago, I had one of those dreams you have when you’re half awake.

This wasn’t it.

I did try to paint what I saw, but it never communicated the idea. A couple of weeks ago, I decided to try the concept again but in a different context–and it was so fun!

What is it that draws me to teapots and teacups? Is it the idea of having a friendly chat? Is it the warmth? The history of it? Is it just that teapots have such interesting shapes? I don’t know. It’s certainly not because I like to drink tea: I do, but not that often and almost never from over of my teapots…I think the invention of the microwave might have something to do with it.

I’m not sure, but I am enjoying thinking about it while looking at this painting.
