I have painted another piece that I had planned to put up today, but this one came together quickly, and is significant for this day, so I decided to go ahead and post it today.

Those who have known me for a long time will recognize this cap even though I’ve done a bad job of placing it on the format, and capturing folds in fabric is still a skill in which I am a novice.

20 years ago exactly today, we buried the man who wore it in his work. I hadn’t commemorated the anniversary of his death yet this year, so it seemed a significant gesture to paint something of his and share it.

Don’t feel sad for me. It only twinges a little at times now, and there is so much in my life that is good.
